Hobson is a small city located in Karnes County, Texas, United States. It has a population of approximately 90 people as of the 2010 census. Hobson is situated about 60 miles southeast of San Antonio and is part of the San Antonio Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city was named after James Hobson, an early settler and owner of one of the first businesses in the area. The economy of Hobson is primarily based on agriculture and oil production. The main attractions in the city include the Hobson Community Center and the annual Karnes County Youth Show and Rodeo. The city also has several parks and recreational areas.
